COVID-19: Isolated, but not alone
We are feeling it. COVID-19 is here and the world is not the same as before.
Here is the email message we sent to our community:
We want to reach-out, if only to let you know, "we care."
A few practical tips and reflections.
1 - Be informed and filter the information.
Listen to the data and the people who know what they're talking about. (Ignore the rest!)
2 - Decide what is best for you and your family.
Follow all safety guidelines - click here for CDC and click here for more resources…
And do more. Decide how to take care of yourself and your family, as you know best.
3 - Protect and care for your emotional well-being
as much as your physical wellness (far beyond singular stockpile of toilet paper)
4 - Apply #3 to our kids.
Help kids understand, prepare and endure through this situation.
5 - Gratitude is the attitude.
Be grateful for what we have, every day. Think of others who have less, and reach-out to them. Give them a call, shop for them, send them gift cards to shop for themselves...
6 - LIFE GOES ON.
Even when Broadway shuts down, and the city that never sleeps starts to dim the lights... our lives are the real show, and the show MUST go on. Keep some semblance of routine, normalcy and even good sense of humor.
7 - Find opportunities in the challenge.
I won't dare assume the challenges you might be confronting right now, but I will say this:
We can help #nomatterwhat
Our team continues to serve our clients - even with everything going on.
* 90% of our clients have scheduled to continue their work with us
Long before COVID-19, we have been leading the field with successful online therapy and innovative distance solutions for years. In our extensive experience we have been surprised by clients who prefer online therapy as compared to meeting in person, and some cases we have seen better results from distance therapy as compared to in-office appointments...
* New clients continue to schedule to get started working with us
Including: adults, teens and parents learning how to help their kids (and run the "new normal" home-schools!)
* And right now, we are preparing more ways to offer help, support and guidance in these unprecedented times
Including free resources, online therapy, webinars, courses, support groups for parents - and helping colleagues (SLP's, educators and therapists) to learn how they too can do good work online.
Please let us know how we can help...
(Now, please excuse me, while I put work on hold. Off to take kids for a bonfire in the forest...)
STAY SAFE and STAY CONNECTED. #nomatterwhat
From all of us,
Phil, Uri and the whole team
